GOALS

African lions have disappeared from 92% of their historical range. There are fewer than 2,500 lions in Kenya due to human-carnivore conflict (typically when lions kill people’s livestock), loss of prey, and new threats such as large scale infrastructure projects and zoonotic diseases. Ewaso Lions works to address human-carnivore conflict building the capacity of key demographic groups (elders, warriors, women, and children) to address ecological problems, ultimately working to restore a sense of ownership over wildlife, their land and conservation.
